GMTK Game Jam - Boss of Souls |
July 2023 |
This game jam's theme was Roles Reversed, and the concept I decided to go with was if you and a Dark Souls boss switched places.

UAT Game Jam - Deceptive Turtle |
March 2023 |
This Game Jam's theme, Deception, was picked by the students of Game Design Workshop II, which I was a part of.
Leading a group of fellow UAT students after a bizarre Friday left us with a quarter of the members we had originally gathered, we created a simple game jokingly called Deceptive Turtle that the judges awarded "Best Design" for sticking closest to the theme of the jam.
The game is meant to be deceiving in two ways. The first is the game's only enemy, a turtle, which we elected to have them move fast to divert player expectation. The second is the means of winning. We tell the player to take out turtles both to stay alive and to wrack up points, and the player needs a lot of points to win. There is secretly a chest the player can find and collect to gather all the points they need, but the scene continuously grows darker until it is pitch black and then the player must rely on their flashlight. However, every time the player shoots, their flashlight grows weaker and decreases in width, making it much harder to find the instant-win chest.

Global Game Jam - Unsubmitted |
February 2023 |
The theme for this jam was "Roots." Because I couldn't snag anyone else and worked on this Jam solo, I wasn't able to submit something in time, but it did give me a chance to experiment with Utility AI for the first time. The hardest part for me was adjusting parameters until the AI would act exactly how I wanted.
The game turned into an auto-battler similar to an old Friv game called Miragine War but with three lanes.
The files provided handle the data collection, weights, and picking the action with the highest value.

Global Game Jam - Lost Friend |
January 2021 |
The theme for this jam was Lost and Found. Lost Friend was the name of the game made by one other friend and me using Construct 3. The goal was reaching the end of the level in your spaceship to find your friend while avoiding planets, enemy ships, and making sure to grab fuel cans along the way so you wouldn't become stranded. UAT held their own ceremony after the jam and our game won "Best Sound Design."
